Terms of use

Last updated 29 September 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Commence Training Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (“we”), which runs the Commence training app. By creating an account or using Commence you agree to them. How we handle your data is set out separately in our privacy policy.

Your account

Community rules

Commence has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Anything you post or publish — exercise demos, coach posts, programmes, your profile picture, your name, your coach profile — must not contain or promote:

Treat the people you meet through Commence, including coaches and their clients, with respect. Abusing, threatening or harassing another user is against these terms wherever it happens in the app.

Reporting and blocking

Most of what people publish is checked by a moderator before anyone else can see it. If something gets through that shouldn’t, or someone is abusing you:

We review every report within 24 hours. When content breaks these terms we remove it, and we suspend or permanently close the account of anyone who posts it. You can also email contact@commence.training.

Your content

What you create stays yours. By publishing it in Commence you give us permission to store it, show it to other users, and display it on our website and in links you share, for as long as it is published — you can take it down, or delete your account, at any time. You confirm that you have the right to share what you post. We may remove any content, or decline to publish it, at our discretion.

Training safely

Commence, and the programmes and advice in it — including anything from a coach or from the app’s AI features — are for general fitness information and are not medical advice. Exercise carries a risk of injury. Check with a doctor before starting a new programme, especially if you have a health condition or an injury, and stop if something hurts. Coaches on Commence are independent of us, and we don’t vouch for their advice.

Suspension and closing your account

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and remove what it has published. You can delete your account at any time from the app’s Profile page, or as described on Delete your account.

The app itself

We work to keep Commence available and your data safe, but we provide the app as it is and can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or free of errors. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that the law doesn’t allow us to limit, or our responsibility for anything we can’t lawfully exclude. If you downloaded Commence from the App Store, Apple’s standard licence agreement for apps also applies.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top is the date of the current version.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Questions go to contact@commence.training.
